not an evolution speech at all. I design control systems for a living. I write programs to control machines. Some times it is extremely difficult to even a simple system to perform the way it is supposed to. This is why I am completely amazed at a system that can respond and even thrive no matter wh...

Just make sure that when you wire it up that is set up for the right voltage. Many of them come with multi tap transformers that can be set for several different voltages. If you wire it into a 120v cord but it is set for something else (240v, 277v, 480v) you could have a problem.

Don't get the intent of this message wrong I hate to hear about stuff like this as much as anyone one else. Besides being a aquarium nut I am an avid diver and mourn the day I can no longer see these reefs in the wild. But I take comfort in the fact that nature is tenacious. If the reefs die off the...

They are closely related to nudibranchs. I have seen them several times while diving. Sometimes they crawl, sometimes they swim. When they swim they are very gracefull and very cool to watch. They get to be about 6 inches long. If I could provide a suitable enviroment for one I think it would be a v...

I have seen these locally while diving. They are called Aplysia brasiliana. Has anyone ever kept one? They are realy cool to watch. I calculated the cubic inches of water per inch of height in my aquarium and the cubic inches of water per inch of height in the sump. There is only a 1/2 inch of water over the overflow. If power fails and the tank drains down to the point where the siphon breaks there should still be a 4 inch safe...

newbie builds his first sump

I have been working on building a sump for my 125 for quite some time. I had some trouble with the dimensions at first because the entire thing had to fit under my stand. This meant it had to be less than 16" wide. I bought a "tidepool" wet/dry filter and sump for $25 from one of the ...
