I used up half a tube of glue trying to get a darm mushroom to attach to a rock. Finall yfound some plastic toothpicks and Voila. The irritation even seemd to make them attach faster, three days. But that might have been my imagination. They even pulled away from the picks after they attached http:/...

Purple montipora cap versus Acropora "Green Bali Slimer", almost lost all the Monti. Had to get very heavy handed with the fragging.

Guess I'm waking this thread back up again. I use a filter sock all the time because my beckett skimmer will get bits of shell or detritus hung up in the venturi decreasing performance. I'm not sure why it does that or where all the stuff it catches is coming from, but when I empty the sock there's ...

Thanks Guys. I guess I should have studied this species a lot more before I bought it, but ever since I first saw them on-line I really "wanted one" so when was at WW and they had one, I bought it. Well, here's my chance to become "famous",eh? Unfortunately, I've killed more than...

Great. Well, what is everyone doing to keep them alive? They don't really strike me as photosynthetic. Are they zoo or phyto eaters? Any info would be appreciated.

That's pretty ambitious. Do you have any experience working with acrylic? Where are you getting your supplies? I would love to learn to wrk with acrylic. I have read hundreds of pages on it. I am going to go out to Al-FLA plastics to buy some cheap acrylic or see if they have any scraps that I can ...

Was it late last year? I was in there around Thanksgiving and they had quite a few frags of it, but I wasn't going home, so couldn't pick one up then. I figured the one I got (the only one they had, which had fallen behind a hammer coral) was from the same batch. I thought if it survived that long i...

I got these off Ebay for $27. The same seller had 4 other frags, one of the posted pics looked brighter than these. They sold for over $200. Somehow I think they got ripped because my pic looks just like theirs! The frag had 50 polyps, but I split them into another tank and they are both doing fine....

"Blueberry" Gorgonian

Does anyone have any information on this species. I first saw them for a rather exorbitant price on Reefscience.com, then found a good size frag for $10 at WaterWorld in Pensacola.

I'm building a tank room and moving the tank about 6 feet (which is almost as bad as moving cross country) and those Mags will be removed. They are noisy and don't move water like they should. I'll go with a Sequence and 4-way Oceans Motions, get more movement and less noise. Unfortunately I'll also...

It's all relative. I wouldnt pay $300 for a Pomeranian, but my father thinks I'm nuts for paying $30 for a small rock of blue zoanthids. I think he's crazy for dropping $400 on a blue tick hounddog. Actually, I think I'm nuts for paying $30 for a blue zoanthid colony (25 polyps) too. Not to mention ...

Here is how I set mine up, with a diagram and pics of the completed tank. In the design, CLS is "Closed Loop System". As Fishfood said, it is a way to get extra flow through your tank without going into a sump or having powerheads hanging in your tank. http://home.comcast.net/~danleyjr/150...
