been there, done that, we did it once when it was still under warranty... it's cold, but it doesn't cool down the house... tonnage is right... we're thinking the attic isn't venting properly... I have on my to-do list to get some temp guages and check the attic temps on a hot day.

yeah, we had the same problem, our A/C isn't that good even w/out the halides... we had to run the halides late at night, so we could see it for a few hours before bed with the lights on... now we can run a daytime schedule with the VHO's.

I'm staying, only exception would be a category 4, and it coming directly over us or slightly to west, in that case, I'd go over to my dad's, a hour away in MS, he has an underground house, which is basicly a concrete bunker in the side of a hill.

I already got two 5 gallon containers of gas, and filled 'em up about a month ago, wooohoo! I don't know if I have any regular 30w oil handy tho, but I do have plenty of 10-30w which should be really same as 30w when it's up to temp.

I'll be running mine either on back porch or in garage... garage is fine if you keep the garage door open... you're not gonna be running it 24 hours a day anyway, so just open the garage when you want to run it.
