There is no hard and fast rules that I'm aware of, but bigger is always better. With 80g of water I would probably go with a 30g sump. That's a very cool build. Orchids have always fascinated me. Here in Gautier at the "mall" (what a crap hole!), they have an annual orchid festival as it were. They have growers and vendors and such and it is amazing the variety of species. Def a beautiful plant.
