Re: Thinking...
In the past I have been able to find nice stuff for way(!!!) less than that local, or at least somewhat local. I did drive to Nepthea's in Destin once but I ended up getting a bunch of frags and Max drove and also got some so it was worth it in the end (until the A. soli RTNed). One of the echinophy...

Re: xenia
I am probably a couple of weeks out. I have a 29 gallon that I am cleaning up. I already have everything else that I might need if I can get the skimmer Snoop gave me to work. The only exception might be if I have to reseal the tank. I have freshwater in it now with vinegar to remove some calcium de...

Re: Thinking...
Of course, they were my favorite. I am not sure that I would pay the prices for them that I used to or that I would travel hundreds of miles just for them anymore. Kids and tuition are more important now.

That is where the in-laws go to church (right of 98 on Brushy Creek Rd). It's a pretty long road though.

Might be worth the trip if you plan on hitting a couple of LFS in the area or have someone you can trade frags with here.

If it's the one in the middle it's what we used to call Red Sea Xenia. The one's on the sides look like elongata.
Lucedale? What parts are you from? My wife is from Lucedale and her parents still live on Shipman-Firetower Rd.

Growing your own isn't hard. If your old enough and remember Sea Monkeys that is all they were. Eggs, a 2 liter bottle and an aerator is all it takes.

You can catch peppermint shrimp on bridge pilings. It's best to go at night with a flashlight and a dip net. Last time my brother-in-law and I caught about 50. Friends have told me of collecting around Destin in the summer. I can't remember what they caught though.

I got the white, 1/2". I had enough left over to make a cutting board and I use a piece that was just scrap to clean fish, in the rare instance that I get to go fishing. I am planning on using it on the tank I am setting up. If I don't like it it should be easier to replace with a sandbed than ...

Re: Thinking...
I purchased mine from AL-FLA Plastics in Pritchard/Eight Mile. Decent price considering the shipping online stores can charge and I was able to get just less than a half a sheet that was left over from something. I never got a chance to use it. I understand that there is slightly more maintenance in...

Is Cheato the predominant caulerpa now? I had grape and I remember it growing pretty quickly and mine never went sexual.

Most people start out with little or nothing. Just post a picture or two and at the least everyone can see how your tank progressed over a period of time.
