I think Griff may be right. A lot of folks in the P'Cola area are just a hop, skip and jump away. For folks as far away as Crestview, there just aren't many sources. Wouldn't hurt to post the rock over there. :)

I suppose that large volume water changes may remove them from the tank (as long as they are primarily in the substrate or in suspension). I wonder if a couple of slow passes through a good UV sterilizer would zap them. Something to think about I suppose.

I tend to agree with snoopdog. Not something that someone prone to headaches should attempt. An article on safe methods to eradicate unwanted dinoflagelates would be much more helpful.

Snoopdog. Sent a small contribution. Maybe I'll get with you for a frag later on sometime. Other than when I'm taking the wife to make her contribution to the Beau Rivage I don't get over to your area often. I feel my contribution is better spent. Keep up the good work!

Yes, I have to admit that the atmosphere is a bit more relaxed (or should I say less potentially confrontational). Seems like a nice place to ask a polite question and get an honest reply. Possibly somewhere where the not so experts (such as myself) can avoid the selfproported experts on other sites...

That thing must weigh a ton! Concrete floors are definately a good thing. :D You ought to post a pic of it. Actually it probably weighs over 2 tons full. Figure 480 gallons at about 8 lbs per gallon and probably another 400-500 lbs for the tank. Yes, I don't see how you could support it on much les...

I've heard exactly the same thing about the individual reflectors and of course some better than el cheapo tubes (like the ones I have). I figure though all in good time. My wife would freak out if she only knew what it costs to go highend in this hobby. Maybe that's why I tend to stick with the eas...

Sue I'm running your basic 4 - 54w T5s on my 110. Three are 10K and one is an actinic. It is what I would call a sturdy (but low end) system. Standard reflectors and balast and my corals (or your's depending on your point of view) are all doing well. I'll change tubes later and definately go for tho...

A good safe bet is GE Silicon II Kitchen & Bath. It's 100% Silicon sealant with no extras. Look for it at Lowes, Home Depot, or Ace Hardwars. I've used it and it works great! :)
