Re: local Clean up crew

You can get everything you need around here in the summer, during winter there isn't much that you can find. "Clean-up crews" are pretty over-rated anyways, IMO. How do you differentiate between what will and what won't eat corals? I put one local hermit in my first tank and it started ea...

Re: local Clean up crew

I don't think I would collect or use too much collected from around here. You never know what they might eat when they are put in your tank. One thing that I used to collect was peppermint shrimp but they don't clean much. Saltwaterfish.com is where we used to order that type of thing from. They are...

Re: Looking to get back into the hobby

Here is a picture. I know that I have a couple more somewhere. Unfortunately, I left my camera at work too.

Re: Acrylic Sump

If you have a computer running Linux or a flash drive that you can run Linux from there are several CAD programs that you could use. I know Ubuntu has a couple as any Debian based distro should have.

It's part of the Lifeguard aquatics modular system. They have different modules for heater, UV, mechanical, etc filtration systems.

They should be made of titanium, that might be the limiting factor. How much is one new?

Re: March 20th Meeting

That might work out about right for me. My tank should just be ready for frags by then. I hope to get the tank I have set up this week and I want to give the live rock that has been in a tub for 3 years a while. That was back when "cooking" LR was the fad and I thought that was the best wa...

Re: Are you interested in the Aquarium Hobby

I guess that is all it took. Maybe we should start contacting people that we know that are still into reefkeeping and let them know that we are trying to make a comeback. That might spark a little more interest. I know that Salt'n'Lime is out but other than him and the active people on this board I ...

Re: Good to be back !!

Nice tank. I have had some of those rare ones but the damn flounder kept eating them. Maybe I should keep them in the tank instead of tanking them for walks.

Is that a fake or skeleton in the middle? It looks like an elkhorn (A. palmata).

Re: Current LFS List

According to TheReefTank.com it closed in October 2008. That is a real shame. Seriously the best LFS that I have ever seen. They had frag tanks in the back that were loaded and reasonably priced. They also welcomed trades.
