Re: anemone

If you have a sand bed in your tank, thats where I would say your wrasse is at. When I put my Yellow wrasse in my old 125g tank, he stayed under the sand for about a week. I have heard stories where wrasse's has stayed in the sand for like 2 weeks. I wouldn't go polking around in the sand looking fo...

Re: My New Tank Build

I keep my eye on the two sites you listed and also Pacific Island Aquatics. The quarantine tank is up and running, but seeing as I have never quarantine a fish before, I am kind of leary of starting with a $$$ fish, thats why the 3 Carberryi Anthais went into the main tank, instead of the quarantine...

Re: My New Tank Build

I have a list, haven't researched them alot to make sure they will get along with each other. 1) For my high $$$ Wrasse, one of these 3,,, Lineatus Wrasse, Rhomboid Wrasse but I am leaning towards the Hawaiian Flame Wrasse because I think I can get a male/female pair easier (2) Ruby Head Fairy Wrass...

Re: My New Tank Build

A few pics, not the best but, the best we have right now. These pics are a bit blurry and do the Anthias an injustice, doesn't pick up the yellows and purples in them. The Wrasse I was thinking about getting from the LFS, but didn't was a Lubbocks Wrasse. Nothing else will be going into the tank for...

Re: My New Tank Build

The rock wasn't what I would classify as dry, I had it in a tub of saltwater, heater and seasoned rubble fo 7 weeks, so not dry but almost. New sand and new saltwater also, although I did get two rather large sponges out of a friends sump, sure that helped a bit. Nothing else going into the tank for...

Re: My New Tank Build

Well, have a great update and a not so great update. The fish came in, and are in good shape I didn't put them into the quarantine tank though, they went into the display tank, I know I shouldn't have done that, but I did. One stayed out all day swimming with the 2 G. Chromis and the Midas Blenny, t...

Re: My New Tank Build

I got the tracking number last nite from Fed Ex, the fish should be here in another hour or so :) I have ordered a fish thru Blue Zoo before, they did a good job and I expect nothing less from Live Aquaria, good company. The LFS owner says the tank is cycled and is letting me had a small cleanp up c...

Re: My New Tank Build

I won't feel safe till I get the tracking number from UPS. I think Live Aquaria takes all orders then fills by who ordered first and I haven't gotten the tracking number yet:(

Re: My New Tank Build

We have a hitchhiker, he came out of a piece of live rock a friend was keeping for me. Not much in the tank for him to eat, I did put some seaweed in the tank for him, maybe he will eat that. I am pretty sure he is a emerald crab, not sure if they are good or bad http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/r...

Re: My New Tank Build

A bit of info that might come in handy. I just made two screen tops for my new tank set up, display tank 48x30x25 and a 29g quarantine tank. The screen I ordered from BRS, the metal for the border I got from Lowe's with the 5/16 inch corner pieces. The 29g top was made first and came out great, the ...

Re: My New Tank Build

A fellow reefer came over to the house yesterday, he got the tank all hooked up. He got the AI LED lights all programmed and pretty much got everything in the sump area set up in the Neptune Apex controller. This controller is way cool, if you are thinking of getting one, spend the money for it, wel...
