I lost my RBTA a few weeks ago when he got caught up in my power head. This I think this was my fault because I was turning my skimmer off for three days at a time and the water quality may have gotten to bad for it and caused it to start moving around the tank causing it to get chopped up in the po...

Nice looking fish. I never thought about cleaning a tank with one of those fish in there. Guess you have to really watch what you are doing.

The tank and pics look great. The Purple Monster coral is looking very nice. It has encrusted the frag plug and put on several branches. The RBTA isn't liking the skimmer being shut down a few days a week and has started moving around the tank a bit. I think I might need to go back to running the skimmer as before 24 - 7 and just stick with the infrequent water changes. I am guessing that the RBTA most likely wasn't liking the infreq...

Hey Andy, how about posting a pic of your Purple Monster frag. I know what it looked like when I last saw it and was just wondering if you have had any growth, I heard they grow slow.

I wanted my new tank to be an SPS coral tank, but it would just cost to much. Well maybe not cost to much, but I have seen to many, much more experienced reefers than me lose all of their corals. I just couldn't stand to lose a tank full of SPS corals, it would most likely drive me out of the hobby....

So far so good, I am good at growing Purple deaths, but even those stopped putting out babies. I have high hopes this time though with the reduced water changes and turnning the skimmer off some. We will see how it looks in a few months.

Really want your thoughts on what I am trying this time, :roll: In my quest to try and get some growth from my zoas I have quit doing my weekly 27g water changes in my 125g tank, (only about 100g of water in the tank, with all the LR in the tank) and I am doing one 27g water change one time a month....
