These are with the star coral, zooanthids. Are they bad for a reef tank?

temp in trickle filter sump. T5 lighting has single cooling fan that is always on when the lights are on. These are on 8-9 hours/ day

Aquarium running too hot?

Here is my problem. I have my first reef aquarium here but it is staying about 88 degrees and I cannot cool it. It has 8 T-5 bulbs and it has the lifeguard mechanical filter. The pump for the filter stays hot. The air conditioner for the house is set at 77. Window blinds are closed. Any ideas. Is th...

Wow, Andrew, you know much about the pathology and transmission of this disease. Do you work at Progressive Marine? I studied marine parasitology in the past but mostly worked with helminths. Nice to see that there is much information here when I decide to purchase a Tridacna.

Does the intracellular parasite produce a spore to infect other clams? Will UV light wipe out the motile stage? Are clams commonly infected in the wild or aquaculture facilities?

My first reef aquarium

I saw it on Craigslist and drove to Newnam, GA to get it. It came with fish and inverts. Broke it down on Sunday and then finally got it set up 400 am Monday morning.
