Re: Costs for Reef are too high.

Thanks for all the replies. Just had a flood the other day and the skimmer overflowed in the cabinet. Used a carpet cleaner vacuum and only lost about a gallon of sw. Yellow coris wrasse that I was happy to have was too immature to acclimate/ ship and now went under the live rick and is likely dead....

Re: B and B has cheap yellow coris reef wrasse

Saw him again at lunch today but not in the morning. Read that they have a hard time adjusting to a new time zone. Fish was resting on the bottom after swimming. Doesn't seem normal but who knows. Ate some brine shrimp and mysis. Will likely have huge phosphate problem while getting it to eat. Wrass...

Looks good, the pinecone algae is amazing. They look like pinecone ginger cones.

Crud, don't see him now. He was eating some food at lunch but is hiding now. They can dive into the sand and need a sand bed. Not in overflow and not on the floor so I should see him again. Cross fingers

B and B has cheap yellow coris reef wrasse

Got one with my discount for 13.59, normally $25. Researched them online and they appear to be reef safe and pyramidellid snail eaters. Put mine in and he is just cruising around the tank. Big fish don't notice him. Gets about 5 inches long. Yellow with bright reflective head and some dorsal fin spo...

Re: Frags for sale

Thanks for the great frags. The little green one appears to be Psammocora contigua (cat's paw coral) Borneman says they are unusual in the aquarium trade but you have many other unusual frags.

Re: So, what got YOU into the hobby?

As a marine biologist, I always kept aquaria. Back in the 80's I used undergravel filters and coquina gravel. We just had weak flourescent bulbs. Surprisingly I kept an African anemone alive along with a Clownfish, Lionfish and others. Worked for a company called AquaZoo in Jacksonville, Fl while go...

Costs for Reef are too high.

How can you lower your costs? My T-5 fixture has 8 bulbs and each bulb is 20 or more to change. Bought new UV bulb also. Must have GFO on hand and this is not cheap. Carbon must also be purchased. Kalk is cheap but I also use C-balance. Been buying Culligan RO water at Walmart and fill 2, 7 gallon j...

Hate to see you selling. I remember seeing your tank and getting those nice xenias from you. How is the LTA doing?

Frogspawn looks great. Came right out. Have to make sure the golden head sleeper does not try to bury the softie. Thanks again.
