Re: Why did Silver Branch Xenia die?
I have pink and silver, but it took a long time for the silver to start growing. In the last month the silver has tripled in size, and opens up fully to pulse. The silver is much more sensitive than the pink.

Yup at B&B, I think I saw the one you're talking about on Friday, he looks great. Mine isn't a bully at all, but I have seen him retaliate against the Kole and the Lawnmower after they attacked him. Very cool fish.

Re: Why did Silver Branch Xenia die?
Are you a heavy water change guy? I was..
Xenia never grew much for me, then I started going to a more normal water change schedule and it took off.

Re: Do Blue Jaw triggers eat Tridacna clams?
I would say no, they're not really equipped to tear into one. My blue jaw has never shown any interest in anything that doesn't float (i.e plankton), and my two big clams have never been damaged.

Re: Oops... Averted BIG Disaster
That would suck, you're lucky it happened on a weekend when you have a little time to mess with it.
That would make good use of my RTV stash If you're interested in dumping it, I may try to get it off you for glass.AuroraDrvr wrote:Anyone want a killer deal on a 240 that needs blown apart and reseamed? lol

Re: 75 gallon stand and canopy
You may want to avoid those glass covers, they're not ideal for saltwater tanks. They hurt your gas exchange and can keep your oxygen levels lower.

Re: agrevated... nitrates and phosphates
Not a new trend at all, pretty old idea. Not many people want to bother with it, there are a few pitfalls to that method IMO. I don't know of any serious systems that have used one long-term. You could put some cheato in your refugium, lots of folks do that with good results.

Re: in need of Copepods and anything that cleans.
Go down to Dauphin Island in the late afternoon, on a calm hot day. Walk in the shallows from near the golf course up to sand island and the check the south side of the east end. You'll find plenty of baby striped hermits (dime to nickle sized), which are completely reef safe. You've seen my tank, I...

Fish for sale/trade
Hi real estate is getting tight, so I'm evicting a few tenants. 6-7" Fox Face, One spot variety, will eat out of your hand - $20 3-4" Sea Robbin, eats flakes/pellets, no aggression but eventually eat fish that it can swallow - $0 http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll311/RufffromCF/101_0206...
