New tank from glasscages came in last week. It only took about 10 days. http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd102/jh023838/DSC_0270.jpg I started getting my saws square yesterday and began some construction today. Here is my high tech blueprint. http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd102/jh023838/DSC_0...

Can't post pictures anymore.

I can't seem to get images to post anymore. When I use to post, I just get the url. If I use the g2Img function to post from the gallery I get the following error message: Fatal Gallery2 Error: Cannot get the Gallery2 ID for this file. Here's the error from G2: Error (ERROR_CONFIGURATION_REQUIRED) *...

My wife will be caring for our tank. As long as nothing major happens, she will be fine. If something terrible happens, I will be close enough to come home on weekends-Tyler, TX about 6+ hr. drive.

Have you thought about T5s? With good reflectors you get more par per watt than most halide bulbs. Less watts = less heat. You can put retro kits together very inexpensively.

New Build Log: Project Octo

I just set the wheels in motion for a Bimac octopus set up coming in the near future. I have really been jones-ing for something different for my next set up and am really pumped up about this. I just ordered the main display from glasscages.com. All acrylic 36x18x17 with snug-fit acrylic tops. It i...

Rich, I will be looking for a baby Bimac. octo towards the end of the year. Do you see them available often? Any tank bred?

I am also looking for a tank approx. 36x18x20, it will need to be drilled with 2 holes in the back but no overflow. If you find something used close to that let me know.

I doubt you could find anything that required no cutting or modifying. Pvc is pretty easy to work with, if you are handy at all you could try to do it yourself. Its also cheap if you mess up and start over you won't be out much money. On the other hand, you could find a store like Progressive Marine...

Before anyone asks, the other was a Japanese made iwaki pump that I could find no info on the model number. I figured for $35 it didn't matter much, I'd use it somewhere. Turns out to be about as big as a soda can. Everything is in Japanese so I'm not even sure if it will work on a US power outlet (...
