what to do
All the tangs except for one needs to go. The Yellow Tang would be the best to keep. The foxface also should go with the coris wrasse. You still would have too many fish but at least you would have taken care of the largest most active fish. If you need to clear out some corals sale or give away the...

Moving help
Yes, it would be fine to do a water change on the cycled 20 gallon and use that old water and put it in the new 10 gallon. Also, if you have any biological filter media from the cycled 20 gallon you might want to use some of it in the new 20 gallon. Will you be moving the 100 gallon to Pensacola? Ja...

Montipora capricornis
Alright, I've made a decision.....I have a very large green with light purple or pink trim Montipora capricornis. Instead of trying to take the whole thing out I want to frag it off. I haven't fragged anything yet but I will frag as the offers come in. They can be most any size. Any piece 3 inches o...

Star Polyps
Green Star Polyps are usually easy to care for and not very demanding. A couple of questions I would ask are; how much water flow are the polyps getting and have you noticed anything nipping or eating the polyps? They should have gentle water flow but do not need anything real strong and certainly n...

Hair Algae
In addition, kalkwasser actually precipitates phosphates I believe. So that will help keep the phosphates down. Get a good phosphate test kit...ideally you want to keep your phosphate levels at 0.02ppm or less.

hair algae
The best way to combat hair algae is to approach it from several different fronts. The first is to make sure you do regular water changes (weekly or biweekly). Secondly, make sure you run a good phosphate remover (iron oxide). Third, take the rocks and scrub them, preferably in a bucket of saltwater...

Skimmers
I think you should be alright without one as long as you do regular water changes. If it were me I would do weekly 25% water changes. You might be able to do 50% bi-weekly as well but smaller more frequent changes are best.
