I have to say yes on the sump as well. Especially on tanks that size or bigger. Consider the oxygenation factor as well, they're just good all the way around.

It's cute, whatever it is. To add to what Andrew said, some species of Porites don't necessarily need massive amounts of light. With good lighting, some of the encrusting species have nice color.

I'm in the Calcium reactor process now with the 120, the ol'two part just isn't cutting it with this tank even with the addition of Kalkwasser. Hopefully the Ca reactor will help. I'm more than a little nervous about starting it up though.
