Kevin, which putty did you tell me to use in the past? I haven't bought any in some time. I know this has come up in the past. Some of the putt out there isn't fish/coral safe. Just because it says "marine epoxy" doesn't mean it is safe for the tank. I think it just means it will work in s...

Here is the little bit I know about this subject. I started out with 2x 6,500K Iwasaki bulbs supplemented with actinic VHOs. The 6,500K looked very white with a significant amount of yellow. Don't run these unless you have good actinics to go with it. The 6,500K are VERY strong lights with nearly do...

Josh use to have a Potter's angel too. He said it didn't do any nipping. Of course, in a 240g, who would have noticed?

Beautiful fish!

Some people get away with keeping these guys (dwarf angels) in their tanks. Even those who keep them and think they don't have a problem sometimes later realize that they do. I was at Terry's one day (before hurricane) watching his bi-color dwarf angel. He told me he didn't have any trouble with the...

Although my acros have taken a hit with the storms and other problems I still have a few that I have left. If anyone is interested I will sell them for $10 a frag. Andy, where did you expand to? Did you setup a porpagation system at your house? PM me your phone number and address. I'll call you and...

I did. I ordered a Chevron tang from them a few years ago. It arrived very healthy and ick free. I have a preference to see the fish I'm buying and to know that it is eating before I bring it home. I almost never order fish. The Chevron tang was the only fish I ever ordered and that was because I co...

Terry, I sure wish your tank was still up and running! I think almost all my frags came from you. I sold them all off when I moved to Texas. It isn't easy finding tri-color acroporas!

Did you use to order your corals from http://www.reefermadness.us?

Don't do a water change too soon. You want the ammonia and nitrites to be consumed by the bacteria and not just removed with water changes.

One trick I use is to turn the temperature up a little. I ran mine around 84. This will speed up the bacteria's growth rate. I would also pull the rock out after about 1 week and shake off the detritus in a tub of saltwater then return it to the tank. Live rock will have a lot of loose material on i...

Looking for SPS frags

Hey guys. I'll be in town around November 7th. While I'm there, I'd like to pickup some SPS frags. Hopefully some of you have some trimming to do. I'm looking for Monti Cap and Acropora (specifically bushy, table, and spiny). Just let me know what you have and how much you want for it. I have toadst...

That a boy Kevin and that a girl Amy! :D I can honestly say that my reef experience wouldn't have been a fraction of what it is if it were not for MBRK! Although many of the old members are wiped out, moved on, or just lost... I'm willing to bet that the newer members will gain as much from this sit...

Well, I figure if Deanna can still post, then I can too! I know I'm not still in Mobile, but I agree with Deanna.... meetings/parties each month was just plain burn out. I had the one meeting at my house and we enjoyed it. You guys may want to think about skipping every other month. Why chang...

WTB: 20 gallon long tank

Anyone have an old 20 gallon long tank sitting around they want to sell? I need it for a sump, so I don't need anything pretty, just well sealed.
