The main reason I never go by there unless I need something really bad: You never know when he is going to be there. I called him one morning and he said he would be back at 1:00 he didn't show until 2. I called several evenings and he was out. If he had set hours when you could just drop by I would...

Wanted: mini brittle stars

I was wondering if anybody has any of the mini brittle stars they can spare. I have never actually seen any but I understand that they are less than one inch from tip to tip and they readily reproduce in captivity.

Looking good. I hope that you keep the xenia pruned so it doesn't spread to other rocks. I peel it off and it grows back. Man, I wish I could get the coralline to grow like that.

Expensive, but you can put any Chevrolet V-8 in them (they have hydromatic 400 transmissions). But they can be a bear to work on and the electrical can be a nightmare. I used to know a guy that had one with a 396 c.i. big block.

What is an aluminum rodded engine? I am not much of the rice burner type. I am putting an engine in my wifes 1991 Suburban. Nothing special, 350 c.i. bored .060 over and a 260 duration .454 lift cam. I have a roller engine that I am going to use in my next truck. I am going to build a 388 c.i. strok...

I want a mandarin anyways. I think my pod population would finally support one. They have not been proven to work though, others have tried it. If yoou ever have time to read the entire thread on RC you will see that there is a long list of things that have been tried.

People have different opinions about the acro crabs. Some colonies that have them don't have the bugs, but others do. Some people wth clown gobies hve them eat the bugs, others won't. There appears to be no definite way to get did of them. Some dips work, but you have to use it at 4X strength and so...

bugs

They have actually been identified as a species of copepod. They only infest some acros. They are about 1/2 the size of a period. The only way I can see them is to clean the glass and focus on the coral. You don't see them until they move then you start seeing more and more. There are probably 50 or...

I finally got a decent picture of my frogspawn and thought I would share it here. Kevin might recognize this one, I don't think it has gotten larger even though it appears to be growing new heads.

Hey Drew, The trip to Coral Connection was postponed because our charter boat captain is a wus. It looks like it will be the Monday before Mardi Gras now. It is probably best though, I have been noticing some of the red bugs (that the 8 page post on RC is all about) on some of my acros. I want to tr...

Kalk alone seems to keep my calcium at about 380. If I use the ESV B-Ionic twice a week (about 25 cc per dose) I can keep the calcium at 440 or better. Some people swear by B-Ionic but I have recently found a few other calcuim products that I want to try. But if you dan't have any hard corals there ...

I'm kind of surprised that Kevin would post that link. He got rid of his hard corals last Sept. I have talked to Chuck (MountainDewMan) on several occasions and he has some of the best ideas for a foolproof tank. He responded to several of my posts on Reeflands when I started planning the lighting s...
