Rio Pump - new impeller

Post by KrazyPlace »

I was having trouble with one of my RIO 1100 pumps. When the power would go off it didn't restart without a good knock to the side of it. After awhile the pump got really noisy too. I started to buy another pump, but decided to replace the impeller instead.

I ordered an impeller kit (shaft & everything) from www.reefgeeks.com for $11.95 plus shipping. I need a new fan too, so it worked out good.

I got to tell you... I'm glad I finally tried to "fix" one instead of just throwing it away and buying a new one. It's like having a new pump. No noise and it will actually restart!

Oh well, this is probably old news to you guys, but just thought I'd share the experience with you.
