Resurfacing Mag Float

Post by snoopdog »

Ok so I found an older Mag Float in the garage I forgot about. They abrasive side is kinda flattened and worn down. So where do you get the abrasive side at in maybe a sheet I can cut and what kind of glue to use. Also if I wanted to replace the felt side where can you get that ?

My AlgaeFree uses the course side of comercial grade velcro. Home Depot should carry that.

Any cyanoacrylate-based superglue will work just fine. I use KrazyGlue.

Snoop, did you find the velcro for your mag float? If so where did you get it and how much was it? Mine desperately needs new velcro. It's almost worn flat. Did you take the old velcro off? And if so, how did you do it?

Amy bought some at Wal-Mart but I am not happy with it. The abrasive side is not rough enough and the hooks are turned in too far. It is ok for now though.

If you find something better let me know. I'm looking for a cheaper way than buying a new one.

Maybe try Lowes, Home Depot, Michael's, or Hobby Lobby.
