Well, I don't have any numbers to compare the two, but the difference in organisms and growth rates is tremendous. For example, a 6 bulb, overdriven T5 system (fan cooled as well) with individual reflectors has the same or greater intensity as some 250w metal halide lamps. What you may be more interested in hearing is that, with the right setup, you can keep anything you want with T5s.
