Hello, My ballast has burnt out as well for my 28g nano and I am having trouble finding a replacement. I was wonder what the model was for the ballast you used and how you were able to wire it in there. Any help would be appreciated.

This might help.

It was a Fulham Workhouse 5.

Thanks for the info. The only thing that I am still not sure about is where to connect the white and black wires on the other end of the ballast that do not connect to the light. The Workhorse 5 only has two wires coming out while my old ballast had three wires. Any help on how to connect the three wires on my hood to the two on the ballast would be appreciated.

Well you have common, positive (i think) and ground. The Fulham is a grounded ballast, the old one probably grounded to the metal shield or something. You can probably just disregard the ground on the Fulham.

Thanks for the tip. I was able to wire up the ballast and get the light working perfectly.

Awesome huh.

Noticed my bulb color is starting to shift, which sucks because those bulbs are not cheap.

I just wanted to let you know I did the same Workhorse 5 swap after my ballast failure. Thanks for showing the step by step instructions. That was great!

Mine is still going fine. I do need to replace the bulb though, it is getting quite yellow.
