If you're asking whether you should buy an odyssea metal halide set up my opinion is a resounding no. I have plenty of experience with these systems and in my opinion it isn't worth the gamble. I use odyssea bulbs with no problems, but not their halide systems.

What exactly is the problem with the odyssea metal halide? I was thinking of getting one but know I'm not so sure anymore.

They are poorly constructed and have very low quality. The reflectors aren't very good, the ballasts often die, the whole fixture runs hot, and I have heard of them causing house fires. (That's Odyssea as a whole).

MINE DOES NOT RUN HOT ( I DID ADD FANS TO IT)
I ALSO ADDED MY OWN REFLECTORS TO IT
NOT PROBLEMS FROM BALLAST
I THINK IT IS A GOOD FIXER FIXTURE (CHEAP BUT CAN BE FIXED TO MAKE A REALLY NICE FIXTURE

I DON'T BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE TO SPEND THOUSAND DOLLARS ON A FIXTURE FOR IT TO BE NICE
A LIL TWEAK HERE AND THERE AND IT'S ALL THE SAME

Sure. But then again, I bought a refurbished 6x54w Current USA fixture direct from current (with new bulbs, reflectors and ballasts/wiring) for not much more than an equivalent Odyssea would have cost.
