Anyone have an opinion on glasscages.com? Any experiences good bad or otherwise you would be willing to share? Their prices on aquariums don't look to bad but if they are not worth dealing with then I dont want to spend my money on some junk.

If you do a search here there is an old thread about it. Some have heard or had bad experiences and others good. Pretty much you get what you pay for and it may not be worth the hassles of buying a new tank to replace a crappy one that you saved a buck or two on.
Wanted: to set up a tank again.

They're coming to New Orleans in Oct , if you want to do a pickup and save the costs of shipping. I think the web site is www.glasscages.com, will prob show their schedule on shows on there somewhere. Following Reef Central posts, it seems like the quality has improved. Maybe a little sloppy on the silicone, but overbuilt for the most part. For a large tank he can not get white glass thick enough I don't think.. (could be wrong).

Brandon, how big would you consider to be a "large" tank. I was looking on SWF.com is where I found them. Someone there had bought one and liked it and said basically the same that the workmanship was better than before. On there website are links to shows and if i read it correct at the shows you can save shipping and also get the tanks for $1 per gallon.

I don't remember the specifics about the starfire/white glass,, just that could only get up to a certain thickness and some people were a bit miffed about it on Reef Central.com. They also sell on Ebay as Twinoaks2. You could do a search for twinoaks or glasscages for more info on reef central. I thought about getting one from their oct show, but won't be ready for it yet.

In your opinion, would 1/2" be thick enough for a tank. I was looking at either the 125 or 135 gallon ones.

OK I will. i was hoping to get my wet/dry filter this week and the aquarium in the next week or two after that until I started getting bills from my kidney stones so it will all be pushed back some now.

My 180 is 1/2 inch thick and is made from starphire glass. You're welcome to see it at the next meeting. I bought the glass and had it assembled locally.

Yeah, I think 180 is fine for a 6' tank. Not sure what is used for 8 footers. My 125 (6') is 1/2".
