Here is a new technique i've come up with for softies.

I've never had any luck using toothpics or sewing frags to a rocks so i'm trying a zip tie. I just cut the end so that it will be sharp and it goes right through the frag with almost no resistance. I think this is going to work great on softies. Once they attach to the rock the zip tie should come right out. You can get some really small zip ties.

I think that is going to be the way to do it for larger stuff. Maybe i'll try ducktape for the smaller stuff.

I've seen people do that with other softies to get them to split. They said they tighten it a little bit at a time. I've tried it with a mushroom, it worked and split into two shrooms and both were stuck to the rock.
