I got a bunch too....most of mine are in the body of my skimmer and the sump. Everytime I clean my skimmer, I wash a bunch of them off the walls of the skimmer. I dont think they do any harm to anything though. They have shells on the top side that covers them almost completely.

Mine dont look like they have shells, but Im gunna pull one out and see for sure... I thought they did and might be those that you are talking about... but I got some huge ones.......

Yea I just sent some with fishfood, they eat the algae. If they are the same they have just half their body covered with a shell.

I used to have a few of these guys, maybe two total. They move pretty fast and seem to have a thin shell. The suddenly they must had died because I have not then either in months.

Mine seem to have hit a regenerating sput I believe, I find little and big ones all the time.

I'm not sure what that is in the picture but what I got from Karen was a stomatella. I had 2 in my tank but wanted a few more. Below is a link about them.

yup that is what they are... I was coming here to post I found them.... wish I had saw your post first... would have saved me some google dancing :) The are in fact stomatella varia...and are in great numbers in the tank..some are huge and have eaten ever bit of the algae in my overflows...... I finally got lucky and got a good hitchhiker !!!! :P
