Yellow what?

What is that and where did it come from?

Ok all joking aside, I just sold all our LR and several pieces that were in the back and did not get light had a yellow sponge on them that looked just like that. It also looks like star coral in a way.

Oscula do not retract when touched. If anything that looks like a sponge retracts, it may be an ascidian or sea squirt colony. I am still sticking to porites, since it is on a porites skeleton and looks like unhappy porites polyps. I have seen many mainly dead colonies with a few very small, lighter, tissue-covered areas like that.

Hmm I have sponge that looks like that.
