Small oblong disc

I noticed a small disc, looks like the rock it was purched on however it has a singular hole(spout) it was blowing ribbons of what appeared to be white smoke under a coral when I first noticed it. The fish were eating the discharged milky substance. The disc seems to move slowly. I can't begin to imagine what this is but I would appreciate someone if they could tell me friend or foe.
Sincerely interested since I had a run in with a gorilla crab who scalped some corals.
thanks

Probably a limpet of some sort--sounds like it was spawning. Any pictures?

I couldn't get any pictures. I removed the creature. I think your dead on with the identity. I was doing research and it appeared to be a keyhole limpet. Will, since it was spawning I have more of these??? How bad are they with soft corals?

The whole debate about certain Fissurellid diets goes on. The Scutus species (i.e. most common is unguis) are strict herbivores. Some other species are potentially omnivorous, though there is still some speculation there. True limpets are also herbivores.
