Live sand & rock

Post by wisore »

Several months ago, my tank was shocked when my cheap LEDs fell into the tank. I removed the LEDs and the tank has been without light for six months. I have kept filtration going. Is my sand and rock still alive and able to go into my new tank or do I need to buy new?

Your rock and sand does not need light to be "live". I always like to use new sand when switching to a different tank because you can stir up a lot of nasty transferring it. I would at least rinse it if you didn't replace it.
