I just ordered 4 of them. They should add an interesting element to the tank.... when i get it set back up.

Yes, they are doing great, I just leave them running 24x7 so I dont have to bother with a timer for them.

BTW I think they sent me the 8 bulb versions instead of the 3 bulb ones I orderd. I am powering them with with a 12v power supply I picked up at walmart, but I think you should be able to get a little more light out of them if you need to by going up on the voltage. I think the site says they can handle like 9-16v

moon lights

i was looking into some "moon lighting" when i set up my freshwater tank (mainly because it's in my bedroom and i wanted to be able to see it at night) and i just put a 50 count, all blue christmas light string in my fixtures. it makes a really even, midnight blue color throughout the tank but i'm not sure how it would react with corals.

but the great thing -- total cost=$1.39
