I saw an idea somewhere but don't remember where.

I intend to keep primarily soft corals which can get into chemical warfare with one another. Carbon can help eliminate that.

In the sump I made a 'power carbon filter'

Maxijet 400.
1, 4" Long 1" PVC Pipe
2, 1" PVC Endcaps
1, 2" X 2" square of nylon screen
2" of 1/2" I.D. Acrylic Tubing
1 Bag of Activated Carbon.
1 Tube of PVC Epoxy ***Make sure this is reefsafe, I don't remember the brand I used, but I have it at home, I contacted the company to make sure, and they assured me it was, after it had been cured***

1. Drilled Holes in each of the End Caps large enough to fit the Acrylic Tubing In.
2. Epoxyed the Acrylic Tubing to One of the End Caps. Slid the other end over the Majijet 400 Outlet.
3. Put Screen on the inside of the other end cap and attached it to the 4" long 1" PVC pipe using a hammer (Screen is between the PVC pipe and the End Cap.
4. Filled the thing from step 3 with Activated Carbon.
5. Capped it with the End cap from step 2.

uhm. I'll post a pic later
