Question: Can live rock be dried and then reseeded later?

Innerarity is saying that he is currently "reseeding" rock in a 150g vat that has been left out to dry and bleach in the sun.

I worded that awkwardly. I meant that he is reseeding rock that was previously bleached in the sun.

Yea sorry, The rock Ive added to the vat had previously been "live" so reseeding is easy. I just add pieces little by little to the vat. Now if you had started with base rock or whatever you wanna call it you would have to cook it which is a whole other process which Im also doing in another tank thats been blacked out !

I have several very large pieces of rock. I eventually want to go back to another large tank. What is the best method for me to store this rock if I choose to do that? I considered selling it, but I really don't want to have to repurchase later at a higher cost. Thanks

Get a rubber made container or trash can and a small power head and let it sit until you need it.

ditto, I had some sitting in a little 40 cube on my kitchen floor for like 2 months ? with two powerheads, no light nothing else. I just moved the rock and tank to my store and its still premium stuff.

I really don't have a place to store a vat of rocks. It would be a bit unsitely ( I live in an apartment). That's why i wanted to know about drying it out. I have several large base rock pieces , and a couple of mediums. I need to store them for a couple of months or longer. I really appreciate the input. Please tell me about the drying process and how to store it after it is dry and then how to reseed the base rock. Thanks
