Hey guys looks like I'm gonna be building some type of saltwater setup. It's going slowly at the moment as I'm getting the stand built and gotta run the plumbing on the sump. All I got to show for is the stand sorta being built.

Looking forward to the build. As you may be able to tell, I am partial to these tank dimensions :D

The interior it's 100 % water resistant all the crevices have silicone in to block moisture pockets and is sprayed with truck bed liner to give further protection.

Next update will be pluming and actual setting up just waiting on my return pump.

Looks like it is coming together. Waiting for the first signs of water to start filling in. Will be happy to see another marine/reef tank on the greener side--and not talking about algae, either  .

Sorry for got to post the pluming part as it was hell trying to adjust the piping and all. But the tank if started up and starting the curing process. I have Fiji base rock seeded with Fiji live rock from a fellow hobbiest and Fiji pick live sand mixed with sugar grade argranite. Also tossed in some sand dwelling feather dusters and a frillfin goby from a friends tank. Still got some stuff to do before I'm content on the tank, still gotta drill a back out to run the power outlets so I can close the door (blonde moment forgot to cut them) build the canopy and add the reef lights (6 t5 bulb)and add the side wood since the tank will me a treasure chest style. As for the sump still gotta put sand and rubble and chaeto for the refugium part also gotta hook the skimmer up.

More to come guys and offer any suggestions

On the sump is there a way to get the gurgle noises to be a little bit quieter?

Do you have a standpipe on it? A durso style standpipe would work. If you drilled for more than one bulkhead, you can use a herbie-style drain. I use a modified version of that and I have a completely silent overflow and drain--no gurgling and zero bubbles going into the sump. I can also get 600+ gph through it if the need arises.

The sump is getting a major modification with the piping as it is annoying but I needed to do a quick build
