My next project ! Yeah I know it is due.

Post by snoopdog »

I know as a founding member of the club my Reef Keeping has not been very exciting and my post are mainly limited to off-topic lately. I am thinking of rewarding my Nano for zero loss, actually all of tanks if I think of it. I have kicked around the idea of upgrading the Nano to a Nanocube Deluxe for over a year and may do it with Amy's approval.

What I would get is the deluxe two light version, dual fans. The cabinet stand and move the tank off the bar into the corner of the kitchen. The 3 gallon tank would go to my office sometime this year. I have enough rock already in the sumps and would have to buy a small amount of sand. I have had the itch to get one of these tanks since I found out they are shaped glass, have internal filters and fans. I mean it is an easy solution and they are reef ready out of the box. The new deluxe version comes with 2 24 watt 50/50 bulbs, two cooling fans and nighttime LED's built in.

I like the way that one looks ,and have thought about getting one myself.

I like the way the via aqua's look also, kinda artsy with the open top.

There are two problems with that for me, one I hate powerheads. Two it is 6 more gallons, which is getting closer to a 20, I already have a 20 gallon acrylic in the attic unused, this would make me consider setting it up again, bad idea.

Well the JBJ are starting to report cracks !!! As high as 20 percent rate of failure !

I went with one from Progressive Marine, 12x12x12 I think.

My boss approved one in my office so I will be getting it Friday, a 8x8x8.

No because the 20 gallon acrylic is quite unique (Uniquarium) and I cannot replace it for under $300. I do have a 29 gallon someone could pick up for very cheap still in the attic, it is already drilled on both sides and painted on the back.

Yeah but $200 is more than I want to spend and the halide is overkill for me.
