Post by underwaterblues »

This might be a dumb question. I have a 65 gallon tank that leaks, whats the process in resealing it. Just makin sure I do this right the first time :?:

you can get some all glass aquarium silicone and strip the silicone inside the tank and then renew it with all glass aquarium silicone then let it sit for 3 day min. and it should be good

There are plenty of articles on this. Google it. You need more details than you have been given so far.. solvents for cleaning, taping to hold corners, order of attachment..... all of these things are important enough to do some research. I'm sure you don't want to wake up to a mess on your floor :)

Ive tried this before. Buy a new one. Toss the leaky one unless you can get a pro to seal it properly. I "fixed" my leaky sump tank 3 times. Last time it leaked I literally threw it out my front door. I have a 55 gal for sale also.

You don't need to break it down, just cut out all the inner fill so only the pane's interior joints are left, then redo the inner seal.
