help with odd growth

I have a crop of small white growths in my tank that have just come up.... they are about a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch high and they are about the shape of spaghetti noodles. they appear to made out of sand... can anyone help me with this??

More than likely a type of worm tube. They'll construct tubes out of whatever material is lying around.

thanks for the info... can you tell me if they are harmful and how i get rid of them or if i should just let them do their thing? lol

In all likelihood, they are perfectly harmless and even beneficial. Just leave them be.
