Something I am Looking For

Post by strout »

I am looking for some acrylic rods. I am going to redo my aqua scaping in my tank and I want to drill the Live Rock and use these rods to build the structures that I want. I was thinking of using just plain PVC pipe if I can't find the acrylic rods, what do ya'll think of that idea?

I think it is a good idea. My jawfish tunneled under rock and it came down on him. Somehow he lived with a broken operculum and he is none the worst for wear.

If you haven't found any acrylic rods yet you could try drink mixers (swizzle sticks). Just cut off the ends and cut into two or three inch pieces. You can sometimes find them cheap at a dollar store.

LMK what you need. A buddy of mine works or Amtrack and he goes to NY every other week. He said there's a plastic shop there that has acrylic rods, weld-on, etc. I could get him to pick some up next go-round.

I decided to just leave the rock alone for the time being, but thanks for the offer.
