Cheap halide lamps

Post by Amphiprion »

Just throwing this out there for those who may be interested: http://www.lightexports.com/servlet/StoreFront

They have very cheap replacement lamps that are in the range for aquariums. I'm going to be trying out their 6500K and 10000K lamps and I'll let you all know. For $20 per bulb, it doesn't hurt to try it out.

Update on these. They seem to work fairly well, though, visually speaking, they appear dimmer than the XM 10K lamp I have. Of course, I'm unable to verify the PAR of these lamps at the moment, so they could very well be similar or close to the XM 10K.
