Now plagued with the brown stuff....

Post by ReefBert »

Okay well I finally won the battle of the green algae! (crowd goes wild). Now I got the brown stuff. I have a clown tang which picks and choses what he grazes but its not doing much good. What else will eat the brown stuff and are phosphates the source for brown algae also?

Usually phosphates or silicates are responsible. Other parameters can cause it and it can be the normal part of the cycling process.
Wanted: to set up a tank again.

Don't worry about it unless it hangs around for many weeks.
