What fish are in your Tanks?

Post by Fishfood »

I see a lot of posting about coral but I'm kind of interested to see what all fish everyone keeps. I am trying to get different fish this time around. I've all of a sudden come to the conclusion that I want different fish in my reef.

Here is what I have(I do not have a camera at this point):

Rosy Scale Fairy Wrasse
Cirrhilabrus rubrisquamis

Tricolor Fairy Wrasse
Cirrhilabrus lubbocki

Yellow Eye Tang
Ctenochaetus strigosus

Bluejaw Triggerfish
Xanthichthys auromarginatus

I wanted a large angel also but decided against it. The Kole tang wasn't my first choice. I almost picked up a powder brown a few weeks back but missed it and then realized I don't want to battle with ich. I know it says that the blue jaws should not be housed with small fish but from all reports on RC about 95% of the people report that they do not touch any of their smaller reef fish, and about 65% or near that say they let the inverts alone. All i have is a few crabs and a bunch of snails so i'm not going to worry. My try to get a cleaner shrimp in before the trigger is finished with Hypo. I've read that they let things alone that were in the tank before they were... usually. I am looking at adding another fairy wrasse at some point. I also want to add 2 neon gobies. Now if i run across anything wild at any of the stores and it is reef safe I might just have to get it.

Hmm. I had picture links...

Right now I don't have any great fish, I lost most of them before I changed my tanks over. I plan on getting some better fish later, for now I am putting corals in the tank. This is what I have right now. Yellow tang, scooter blenny and a false perc, sergent major damsel, blue damsel, and molly miller blenny

Yellow Tang, Bi-color Blenny, Yasha Hase goby (w/pistol shrimp for friend) and a Springeri Pseudochromis

I've got pics of all but the pseudochromis in my gallery.

I don't have any pictures but I have a yellow tang (Zebrasoma flavescens), regal tang (Paracanthurus hepatus) , 2 true percs (Amphiprion percula), 2 orchid dottybacks (psuedochromis fridmani), a springer's dottyback (pseudochromis springeri), two pink spotted watchman gobies and one yellow watchman goby. Pretty cheap selection of fish but I have lost all of my fish before with a heater mishap. I would like to have a mandarin, royal gramma or some of the other really colorful fish but not too soon.
Wanted: to set up a tank again.

You have had luck with a Yellow Tang in a 29 gallon ? How long has it been in there ?

Over a year ago I had a leak in my 65G and had to break it down. I didn't want to put both the Regal & Yellow tang together in a 30G Rubbermaid container (that was all I had) so I put the Yellow Tang in my Fish Only 29G. All I had in it, at the time, was the pair of clownfish. I was never able to catch the SOB again after I put the 65G back together, so now he lives there! He's a pretty good size fish for a Yellow Tang, and YES, he's doing good!
