I tried kicking and poking and it still did not fix it. I even scraped off the xenia and did a fresh water dip and all that did was make it worse. Nothing (no porn, ext.) was on that computer because it was just a backup computer that I built about a year ago.

Since I lost out on the board that I wanted I am going with another board.

Here is the board that I have now

These are the two that I am looking at.

Before I buy one of these I want to make sure that it will work with my system. I just wanted to get a second opinion. So tell me what you think. Here are the specs that I have.

Memory: one stick of DDR 256 (266MHz)
CPU: 1.7 or 1.8 celeron processor (P4)
I want a board with on board sound

Or if someone knows of a better deal somewhere let me know. Thanks

Did you try resetting the bios with the jumper?
That usually fixes the majority of bios problems like that.

I have a nForce2 mobo, 2800+ barton core, heatsink/fan and 768mb DDR333 ram I'll let go for $150, all ready to rock... nForce2 comes with all the goodies, network, 6 channel sound with SPDIF outputs, etc. Act now and I'll throw in a Geforce 4 Ti4200 for free :)

sweeet, sold, to either Andy or Brandon :) I totalled up the replacement parts, and I'm gonna be spending about $500 total to upgrade my shizzle, so that helps out. This way I don't ahve to re-buy some parts I'd have to give with the whole desktop ready-to-go too, so comes out better this way :)

I tried reseting the cmos with the jumpers but I don't see any other jumpers on the board.

That is an awsome deal but that is just a little to much for me to spend on this back up computer. Thanks any ways.

Never seen a mb that didn't have a reset jumper... never despair , you can still unplug the power and pull the battery for a few minutes to reset it.

Pull the battery from the MLB for at least a minimum of 30 minutes. If a MLB is designed properly the capacitors can hold enough juice for that long to power the RTC chip. My method of shorting a cmos is shorting the RTC for 30 seconds, that kills it everytime. If you do not feel comfortable shorting the RTC just pull that battery for a while.

I finaly got around to fixing my broke computer. i bought the new motherboard a while back put it in and the hard drive started screwing up. So I had to reformat it and reinstall window. I have finaly got around to formating and reinstalling windows on it tonight. It is up and running like a champ again. I think I only paid $30 for a new motherboard from computergeeks.com
