I was wondering is this is a great deal since it is guaranteed for 30 days upon arrival?

I would think a club member would/should give you some for free.

Scott,
omg yes, I will love to get a stalk of those. Does the Xenia pulse? Maybe I can pick up a stalk at a meeting or drop by sometime. I would like to get some Xenia very soon though. Is it free or are you looking for trades only?

Just a warning, I would rather get kicked in the junk than put xenia in another tank of mine. I can get rid of cyano, aptasia, etc. but cannot get rid of that xenia.

Joe,
Thanks for warning but, I have read many tips online that state how to properly maintain it from taking over. Plus its not much different that putting GSP in your tank and watching it take over your tank.

That picture is pretty old. I keep one rock of it that is isolated from the rest of the rockwork and once it starts to migrate off that rock I remove it. I wish I had some of the Xenia elongata again. I think they are a good water quality indicator. I do have one stalk that just started growing on the glass. I have someone else wanting some but I should have plenty soon.

It does pulse and if you want one stalk I will give it to you. I used to throw it out in the yard to get rid of it but with my new skimmer it doesn't grow hardly at all anymore.

I'd have to disagree with that statement. You know where GSP is going and it doesn't move nearly as fast. I had a piece of that pom pom xenia at one point. It was one little clump. It spread faster and at the most random places then GSP could ever dream of. We kept it isolated on its own little rock that was at least 6 inches away from anything else. When it finally settled into the tank it took a matter of days to span that 6 inches and move onto the glass and start to spread. But thats just my experience. I moved it out as fast as i could and never looked back.

Ditto again.
I am trying my best to get some growing, and so far only have some in one of the smaller tanks. I really wish I knew what the difference was from one persons tank to the next.

The tank that I had it in was the one you bought from me. It had the 175w MH with a canister filter as its only filtration. I'd say the water was fairly dirty. It did have a dsb and LR but for the most part thats all it had becuase I'd have to say the canister filter wasn't doing much.

This stuff is almost evil. It took over more than half of my tank in around a month. Tried everything to get rid of it, but kept showing up in places almost completely across the tank (so despite trying to keep it under control, it WILL find a way to spread). The only way I got rid of it was when I nuked it with my new skimmer.
