Mardi GrasGermanShepherdGirl wrote:... I don't understand Mardi Gras ...
(mär´dē grä) , last day before the fasting season of Lent. It is the French name for Shrove Tuesday. Literally translated, the term means "fat Tuesday" and was so called because it represented the last opportunity for merrymaking and excessive indulgence in food and drink before the solemn season of fasting. In the cities of some Roman Catholic countries the custom of holding carnivals for Mardi Gras has continued since the Middle Ages. The carnivals, with spectacular parades, masked balls, mock ceremonials, and street dancing, usually last for a week or more before Mardi Gras itself. Some of the most celebrated are held in New Orleans, Rio de Janeiro, Nice, and Cologne. For a full discussion of this subject, see carnival.
More importantly ... It's another reason to party!

Damn Guardbaby what the hell is up with the blah blah babble you are typing damn anyone can google.
Here Guardbaby:
There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
And when she gets there she knows if the stores are closed
With a word she can get what she came for
Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
And you know sometimes words have two meanings
In the tree by the brook there's a songbird who sings
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven
Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
There's a feeling I get when I look to the west
And my spirit is crying for leaving
In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees
And the voices of those who stand looking
Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
And it's whispered that soon, if we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason
And a new day will dawn for those who stand long
And the forest will echo with laughter
And it makes me wonder
If there's a bustle in your hedgerow
Don't be alarmed now
It's just a spring clean for the May Queen
Yes there are two paths you can go by
but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on
Your head is humming and it won't go because you don't know
The piper's calling you to join him
Dear lady can't you hear the wind blow and did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind
And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our souls
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll
Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
And when she gets there she knows if the stores are closed
With a word she can get what she came for
And she's buying a stairway to heaven, uh uh uh.

Oh that part ... Well I happen to totally agree. Although a member of an organization myself, I don't sit by the calendar and wait for it. And the last place you'll see me is on a parade route. Save St Patty's in New Orleans. Now that's fun.GermanShepherdGirl wrote:Yeah I know some of the history behind it. But who cares about getting beads and moon pies and crap. I'm not driving all the way downtown in the crowds for that to be around a bunch of drunks. I think it's over rated.
Now if you'll excuse me ... I have to go read ALL of the bullshit that donkeyd**k pasted ... I mean posted on here.

Well sir, just to show you how truely full of shit you are. You, yourself pointed out that I Googled" it, which I did ... Then copied and pasted it to the forum, hence the italics. So I "typed" nothing.donkeyclubmember wrote:Just pointing out how Guardgirl is typing meaningless stuff.
As far as the babble ... I was merely answering a question posted by a fellow board member. Tryin' to be a nice guy. Something you know absoulutley nothing about.
Smuck!
