Terry Moore's 240G room divider (56k will definitly die)

Post by ShagMan »

I'm not gonna say a lot except WOW. Here's pics; I'm gonna post what stats I know.

lighting: 4 x 400w 20k, 4 x 72" VHO on two Icecap ballasts
filtration: two filter socks, phosphate/charcoal sponges
skimmer: way too small looking Predator, not sure on brand?
monitoring: octopus hooked into a computer via X10
stand: home built mahogony, 1-2" thick paneling and no inside supports
fish: jesus, too many to list... purple/sailfin/yellow/naso/powder-blue tangs, anthias, green/blue chromis's, blennies, gobies, I lost count.
corals: holy crap, everything! Including a toadstool/leather?? that's about 20" diameter, and a freaking flowerpot that looks happy. SPS, etc.
he runs a calcium reactor.

Did Rich Gallop happen to get your old tank and was there an imperfection in the glass toward the bottom right above the trim ? Kinda looked like an indentation ?

Kevin, yes, that was the one. Terry said we definitly would have not wanted it... he said you wouldn't be able to tell when it was dry, but it was BADLY scratched up on one side due to coreline and improper care, he found it to be unacceptable for a see-through tank (couldn't keep that side clean), and got a new one instead. Yes, he wasn't the first owner either. Sheesh that tank has traveled!

PS, I didn't take a good pic of it, but his GSM clown pair has hosted in a bubble coral, mated and was nursing a LARGE crop of eggs... he said they've always bred easily, but unfortunately he's not really taken advantage of it, and they end up eating the young.

I will say the tank I traded to rich I would have kept if it had not been a see thru. The tank did not leak and the front of the tank had just a couple of minor scratches..For what he was asking for the tank it was a super deal..just not for a see thru which is how I had mine set up. .

The only problem i had with the tank when i looked at it are the overflows, i am not a big fan of overflows. The are ok but for "the tank" that will be the last one i get i want it perfect. There were scratches on both sides that would had bothered me.
