Wow, looks like a nice fixture. I've heard some info on them, mostly mixed--intensity being a bit disappointing, last I heard. That could've changed, though. I think the AI units are the general consensus for performance, but those Orpheks seem overpriced, IMHO.

Very interesting info.. I was looking at this fixture because out of all the brands i have come across this was by far the best setup for light spectrum, intensity and coverage, however i cant find a vendor for that brand you mentioned. If you have a link would you mind posting it for me?

Hmm. Looking back at what I said and at some of the info, I'm now seeing conflicting results. Some PAR tests show the Orphek having a slight edge (~80 mmol^-2*S^-1), whereas others show AquaIlluminations having an edge... Somewhat misleading. Meh, either way, both would be light monsters, essentially replicating 250-400w halides.

Light monster is indeed what im looking for :) I have also found lots of conflicting info which makes decisions very dificult lol. I have seen the ai's in person though and hope someone around town has the orphek so i can mentally compare them :)

Just curious, do they lose intensity over time ? I would think since they are LED they would not.

They still do lose intensity, just over a much, much longer period of time. Basically, when you see the ratings of 20,000 hours or 50,000 hours, that means that they retain at least 70% of their intensity for that period of time.
