Caulastrea growth sequence.

Post by Scott »

Here are some pictures of my Caulastrea from when I got it to now. Shawn said that it was his fastest growing coral and looking back I might have to agree.

That's what I said when I was looking back at the pictures. It's hard to see growth when you look at it every day. That is why I like taking pictures. As bad as they are you can at least wee growth.

I found that it does better and grows faster when it is on the sandbed. I found this is true for all LPS. Amy, I think yours was using all it's growth energy to reproduce and I bet if you have pictures you will see similar growth.

Here's the latest picture. I have fragged it at least 5 times since that last picture and changed lighting (was 400 watt Iwasaki's now it's 250 watt 20k XM's) Sorry about the dirty glass. I haven't scraped it since Christmas.

I got a piece of this from Scott and I've fragged mine in half since then. It's growing really well, but I don't think it's as fast as his!

That thing grows like crazy. I had a peice of that from shawn but Ivan killed it. Every frag that I got from you shawn and terry did not make it due to ivan and other complications in the past. I have gotten everything straightened out now and I have a frag or two of the harder corals that are doing great. Anyways do you think I could get a frag of that some time. :)
