Anyone want a filefish, can bring it to the next meetin.

He looks like a tiny leaf, cute as can be... not particullarly reef safe though :roll:

He's about the size of a nickel, so I don't think he'll need anything bigger for a while.

Word of warning, the linked page states that lots of the species of filefish like to chew on corals, and like "meaty foods", meaning they might like your shrimp/crabs/snails as well.

he would be in a 10g with LR only maybe another small peaceful fish as well

It would have to be a very tiny and lame shrimp... This thing is very small and slow. I'd put him in the mantis tank, if I didn't think the mantis would have him for a snack.

well bring him... I will put him in the sump until i get a tank setup and cycled for him.

I would like some input from the Filefish owners after you have had time to observe them. They seem really cool and interesting from looking at Mikes during the party. Has anyone seen any problems at all with chewing on corals or attacking fish ??

kevin, are you talking about FILEfish(like puffer), or PIPEfish (like seahorse)

Pipefish, sorry. Just look at his link with a picture, definitely not a filefish.
