Distance of Halides from Water line.

Post by Brandon »

I've been procrastinating mounting my metal halides in my 125, because I didn't have any corals in it. The VHO was fine for the 2 fish. I now have a few corals and need to get busy and mount these puppies. I am not sure if can get away with my canopy the way it is now, or modify it a bit to raise a section in the top for the halides to be mounted in.

How close can I mount these to the water, how close is everyone elses?

If I put them in the canopy as is they would be 5.75" from the water. I don't know if this would work or not. The back is open and I plan on adding a couple of fans to it. Would this work for a temporary means until I can construct another smaller box to place on top of this canopy?
Thanks,Brandon
