Group purchase ,Maybe: Refractometers

Post by SaltnLime »

I need to get a refractometer and was wondering how many out there are looking to buy one. Maybe we could get a group purchase together. I saw another club do one and with 20 people they got them for under 40 bucks.

Wow! I'm not really up for one, but if we could get 'em @ $40, I'd be in.

Ok, here is the deal.

I can get refractometers for $37.00. This would be my (our) cost. I would not be making a profit. That will include shipping (see below) . We will need to try and get at least 10 ordered, but if we fall short I can work it out. Still, this is a pretty good deal I think.

Here are some of the specs on the unit:

Model : RHS10ATC

This model has a built-in automatic temperature compensation system.

Measuring range:
0-10%Salinity

Resolution Factor:
0.1%Salinity

Compensation temperature
range: 10℃-30℃

RHS10ATC dual scale portable Salinity Refractometer comes in a blue, foam-lined hard case. The RHS series of portable refractometers is designed to measure the salinity of sea water and saline solutions of similar concentration. One scale checks the NaCl levels with the range of 0-100 ppt (with 1 ppt scale divisions) and the other scale gauges Specific Gravity with a range of 1.000 to 1.070 (+/- 0.001 accuracy). Both enable the direct determination of salinity in water that contains dissolved salt and little or no other dissolved solids.

All RHS models use ambient light, no battery or power source is required, making them truly portable. Models with the “ATC” suffix are equipped with “Automatic Temperature Compensation” for accurate measurements without recalibration after shifts in ambient working temperature (field use).

The units come in both blue or black and I BELIEVE our units will be Blue.

Please post if you are interseted. The price above will include shipping to one location. The way payment will work is we will get a group together . Anyone wanting to purchase a unit will be added to the list. I will collect the money and pay the vendor who will drop ship the units direct to me. From there we will hand deliver the units . This saves on both shipping cost for us and the vendor who buys direct and ships direct AND gives us one package to track and insure.

Also Wanted to say that several group purchases have been made on these and everyone seems to be pretty happy.

Well sounds like a great deal, but like Amy said, we have one.
