Pumps

If anyone is setting up a small tank I strongly suggest going with RIO of all things for a pump. I recently setup a new cube tank and went through a bunch of old pumps looking for something that was not obstructive and quiet for this small tank. Everyone of my Maxijet pumps had broken impellers or some other problem, plus the cords are freaking huge. The cords on the Rio are easily routed and hid behind the tank. The Maxijet cords are thicker than what is on my vacuum cleaner ! Not to mention the pump size vs. output.

The Maxijet 400 is twice the size as the Rio 180, and the Rio clearly out performs the Maxijet pumping out way more water, at half the size. I really like these little pumps despite what people say, and the main thing with me is the small size of the pump. Just some tidbits of observation......
