Keep in mind there is still a lot of glaze on the tile surface. It really is hard getting that glaze off.

No, chipping up the old thinset under that black tile was way too much work. Pictures show it all. One adult and two kids about 10 hours of chisel work.

Ok last picture, living room finished. Notice I have stopped at the fireplace. Not sure what I am doing there yet. Probably tumbled marble.
